Ph.D. Degree
The Ph.D. is the highest degree in the fields of chemistry and biochemistry. The decision to pursue this degree should be based on a high aptitude for the subject and a determination to function as a professional in the field.
Apply
The Department encourages prospective students with an interest in any area of chemistry to apply for admission to our graduate program. Basic requirements include undergraduate research, an undergraduate GPA of 3.0, and a bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry, though rare exceptions can be made for closely related degrees.
Baylor Graduate School
Graduate students play a key role in Baylor’s research and scholarship, producing roughly 800 professional presentations and over 600 research articles per year. Over 100 research doctorates are awarded each year. More than 95% of doctoral graduates work full-time in an array of academic, research, and professional settings.

The purpose of the CGSA shall be to promote the study and advocacy of chemistry among graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty, as well as unity between these groups.
